Roads in St David’s will be closed briefly on Good Friday for racing events, the Ministry of Public Works has announced.

The ministry said the roads would be closed so the St David’s Cricket Club go-kart, bicycle and motor go-kart races could take place.

The races will start at St David’s Lighthouse, continue on Mount Road to St Luke’s Lane and Texas Road, on to Great Bay Road and finish at St David’s Cricket Club.

These roadways will be closed during the events, which will take place between 4pm and 4.45pm.

Parking along the route will be restricted during this time and officials will be responsible for granting access to the affected properties.

“In addition, the police are hereby authorised to ‘close-off’ streets or parts of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides,” the ministry added.

The ministry encouraged the public’s full co-operation during the closure and apologised for any inconvenience that may result.

Questions about the events can be directed to race representatives Ceble Crockwell at 737-4784 or Stephen Tucker at 501-3010.
