Senior injured in collision

A senior was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after being hit by a car on Friday, police said today.

The accident happened at the junction of Long Bay Lane and Nursery Lane, Sandys, some time between 9.45pm and 10pm.

According to a police spokesman, the car was travelling west along Long Bay Lane before making turning left into Nursery Lane and colliding with a 69-year-old male pedestrian.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has information on this incident is asked to call Pc Dinell Bean on 515-2413 or e-mail him at dbean@bps.bm.

Witnesses can also call the main police number, 295-0011, the non-emergency reporting number 211.
