Bermuda’s public transportation app now informs commuters if buses and ferries have been delayed or cancelled.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport said that the feature is one of three improvements made to Shorelink.

She explained: “Since the introduction of real-time tracking for buses and ferries, the system has been closely monitored.

“Feedback has been gathered from both operational teams and the travelling public.”

Enhancements inform the public how long disruption to service is expected to last and, where possible, reasons for the delay or cancellation.

Other updates highlight how many times buses or ferries are expected to service each stop and show the transport en route with marked arrows.

The spokeswoman said the improvements “reflect ongoing progress towards a modern, reliable and passenger-focused public transportation system for Bermuda”.
