Road closure scheduled in Paget this week
A portion of Chapel Road in Paget will be closed to traffic from tomorrow and Friday for roadworks.
The Ministry of Public Works and the Environment said the road would be temporary closed between Middle Road to just before the entrance to Latte’s Café parking lot between 7.30am and 3pm on both days.
A spokesman added: “The closure is required to accommodate road repair works, with traffic control under the direction of representatives from Joell’s Asphalt Services and Maintenance Ltd.
“Local access for residences and businesses, including Latte’s Café, will be available via Harbour Road.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes via Middle Road, Manse Road and Cobbs Hill Road.”
The spokesman also said that temporary traffic controls will be in effect in Sandys on Sunday morning for the Cambridge Classic 5K and 10K races.
The races will kick off at 8.30am with competitors setting out from Cambridge Beaches and travelling along Cambridge Road, Mangrove Bay Road, Malabar Road, Cockburn Road, Freeport Drive, Kitchener Road and Runway Lane before the races conclude at about 10am.
The spokesman said: “Motorists should expect temporary traffic controls during the event and are urged to use caution when travelling in the area.”
