Government announces lane closures in Sandys, Warwick

A road in Sandys has been reduced to a single lane to allow emergency repair works in the area.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works and the Environment said that today and tomorrow, Pender Road will be reduced to a single lane near the Dockyard Bus Depot to allow water leak repairs.

Work on the site is expected to take place between 7.30am and 6pm both days with traffic controls in place.

A second lane closure is scheduled to start on Monday on Burnt House Hill in Warwick to allow wall construction work.

The lane closure, near 35 Burnt House Hill, is scheduled to last until July 13 with workers on site between 7am and 6pm.

The spokesman said: “Traffic controls will be under the direction of representatives from Limestone Holdings Ltd, using temporary traffic lights.

“Motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution when travelling through the area.

“The ministry encourages the full co-operation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
