A 56-year-old man is in stable condition after suffering a possible head injury during a collision in Smith’s yesterday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Police Service said that officers were dispatched to the scene of a potentially serious crash on North Shore Road near Tamarisk Hill.

She said: “Initial information suggests that a car and a motorcycle travelling in opposite directions were involved in a collision.

“The male motorcycle rider is believed to have sustained a possible head injury and has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.”

As of last check, the man was in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. The driver remained unhurt.

The spokeswoman said that traffic diversions were in place at Store Hill and Jennings Road while the scene was being forensically examined, with motorists urged to avoid the area if possible.

Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of this collision. Any witnesses are encouraged to call 211, as soon as possible.
