Taking control of your emotions
By Jessica Frias, Head Girl, 9 Years
Controlling yourself means a lot of things like thinking before you speak and saying no to drugs. Be very careful about the things you say and do - thats an example, and it means before you say something rude, control yourself and dont say it at all. Those are some ways you can control yourself.
What do you have control over? You have control over a lot of things like deciding to do or not to do something and your mouth and what comes out of it. Those are just two examples, but are my favourite ones. The reason why is because they tell you a lot.
Some examples where you show control are not being angry when fouled while playing a sport and not name calling when angry. Ill tell you a scenario. The netball team of our school went to Francis Patton to play a tournament against different schools. When we were playing against Francis Patton, they shoved some of my teammates. They were very angry, but they didnt show it. They took control over themselves.
What do you not have control over? Ill tell you. You dont have control over how somebody hurts you, parents rules and decisions, and your heart pumping blood. Those are things you dont have control over.
Now before I end, Ill tell you some life lessons. One day my friends and I were talking, and someone came to one of us and said some rude stuff. We controlled ourselves by not saying anything to them.
A controlled person would be a responsible person because he controlled himself even if someone irritated him. Another way a controlled person would be a responsible person is to tell the teacher if someone is bugging him.
How can your actions impact your future aspiration? It depends. Do you have a good life or bad life? If you have a good life without being in any gangs, then your future is looking good. If you have a bad life like youre in gangs and doing rude things, then you are not headed to the right future. So make sure you are doing good things in life and not bad things.
Thats all the things about controlling yourself, what you have control over and some examples. I hoped you enjoyed because I did!
