A costly endeavour

Dear Sir,
I tried to get back to the old days and made my own bread and to save money. Guess what! It actually cost me more to bake my own bread. Flour, yeast, etc. Was I surprised! It certainly tasted much better and I knew the ingredients I used but I was trying to save money.
Any advice?
