Flipper heck! Give Back Games is back
A dozen international companies will trade their suits for beach wear today as they compete in the fourth annual Give Back Games.
Each of the 12 teams, representing companies such as Ace Tempest Re, Aspen Bermuda, Catlin and Validus Re, will compete in multiple competitions in hopes of raising money for their selected charity.
Among the dozen charities who stand to benefit are the Bermuda SPCA, the Family Centre, Meals on Wheels, YouthNet and the Bermuda Red Cross.
A spokesman for the Centre on Philanthropy, which organises the annual event, said: This year there are more teams and more charities, plus a couple of new games, such as the shark relay race and the food tower. Of course, the regular favourites like the flipper relay are still on.
A total of $70,000 will be up for grabs, with the winning company earning $11,000 for their charity.
The event will start at Horseshoe Bay with welcome remarks at 2.35pm, with the final prize presentation at 5.10pm.
