The Bermuda Hospitality Institute has launched a series of YouTube videos in the build-up to next month’s Plates of Passion event.

The April 3 event is intended both to kick off the 2014 Hospitality Month and raise funds for hospitality education programmes and culinary scholarships. As part of the event, ten teams of chefs and culinary students will produce a series of entrées for diners.

The video series will show the teams meeting to prepare and plan their menus, preparing for the big day. So far eleven videos have been put online as part of the series, and more will come as the competition approaches.

A BHI spokeswoman said: “The series is both entertaining and informative, providing viewers with a wealth of insight into all the hard work involved in planning such a major dining event.

“By logging on you can watch as the teams discuss their menus, get acquainted with their team members, share their culinary backgrounds and more.”
