PartnerRe announced Andrew Stapleton has been appointed to head up marine and energy offshore.

Mr Stapleton will be based in Zurich, and report to Charles Goldie, deputy CEO global, non-life and head of specialty lines, global. Mr Stapleton will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s marine and offshore energy treaty business worldwide.

Partner Re said: “Mr Stapleton joins PartnerRe from Alston Gayler in London and is well known in the specialty markets, with more than 20 years of industry experience.

“Before joining Alston Gayler, Andrew was chief underwriting officer at Omega Specialty in Bermuda, responsible for the marine, non-marine and aerospace treaty books, and senior vice president with PxRe in Bermuda, responsible for the marine, aerospace and cat retro portfolios.”

Mr. Goldie said: “Andrew’s experience in the specialty lines and particularly in marine reinsurance make him a valuable addition to the team.

“I am confident that under Andrew’s direction, PartnerRe will continue to develop and strengthen our partnership with our clients.”
