Sex case man released on bail

A St George’s man accused of a series of sexual offences against a young girl has been released on bail.

The defendant, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was charged earlier this year with several counts of sexually exploiting a girl while in a position of trust. Because the charges must be heard by the Supreme Court, he has not been required to enter a plea.

While he was initially remanded into custody, during a court appearance yesterday morning Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the defendant on $25,000 bail with a like surety. As part of his bail conditions, the defendant must wear an electronic monitoring device and is restricted to his home 24-hours a day, except to report to a police station once a week.
