Man denied GBH by dangerous driving

A 26-year-old man has denied injuring someone by driving dangerously.

Leroy Wade, of Warwick, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court this morning to causing grievous bodily harm by driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

He is accused of injuring Steven Lightbourne on Middle Road on May 17.

Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney told the court the victim had to be flown to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment.

Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe adjourned the case until November 4 for mention, so papers could be served and to allow the defendant to retain a lawyer.

Mr Wade was released on $3,000 bail with one surety.
