Should this be our leadership compass?

Sir John Swan

• Sound leadership with the moral and principal authority to conduct the affairs of the country.

• A commonsense and transparent course of action that best serves our country.

• Become a country of productive individuals who take pride in their respective fields of employment and community service.

• Strengthen our relationship with the outside world.

• Develop a Bermuda that not only recognises those who are academically inclined but also those who have natural interests and talents.

• Develop an education system that caters to those who are less academic so that their education allows them to be productive.

• To judge individuals more by their character and contribution than by their occupation.

• To become a country of visionaries, whose creative and innovative ideas and views will contribute to making Bermuda a better place.

• We must have a collective view of our country and the outside world so that we are able to utilise our resources and those of the outside world to better serve our people.

• We should have leadership in all aspects of our country’s affairs that is transparent, tolerant of other’s view and makes decisions that will move the country toward a better set of conditions for its people,
