Summer internships for Bermudians offering networking opportunities and hands-on experience are being offered by Deloitte.

The deadline for applications is tomorrow.

The company’s Deloitte Exclusive Experience Programme (DEEP) is available to all Bermudians interested in accounting, actuarial science, enterprise risk services, consulting, information technology, tax, talent and marketing.

Participants are hired from June through to August each year, with some flexibility on the end date.

“In today’s tough job market, as students review their options for the summer employment, an internship with Deloitte will equip students with skills that will benefit them throughout their careers,” Deloitte said.

Former DEEP intern Milton Stephens graduated from Wilfrid Laurier with a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in accounting. He took part in Deloitte’s internship before joining the company full-time. He is working towards his CPA designation and works in Deloitte’s Alternative Investments team.

“Internships are invaluable,” Mr Stephens said. “They teach students about the working world and provide real-life experience in the field — you cannot get this in a school lecture hall.

“Internships are also a great way to make an impression on potential future employers.”

Each intern is allocated a counsellor who will provide training, exam support and professional support.
