An influx of racing crews and one of the most expensive luxury yachts in the world have brought a splash of class and colour to St George’s Harbour.

The annual Arc Europe Rally has resulted in 20 yachts travelling to the East End from Portsmouth, Virginia, and the US Virgin Islands as they prepare for the next leg of their transatlantic race. Steven Spielberg’s multimillion-dollar private motor yacht has been the town’s main attraction for the past few days as she stands berthed at Penno’s Wharf.

The Seven Seas, which can be chartered by guests, is reported to boast an infinity pool with a 15ft glass wall that could also be used a movie screen.

The luxury vessel also comes complete with a helipad, fully equipped gymnasium, a spa and massage room, and an indoor cinema, while its stability systems allow the Seven Seas to travel smoothly at 20 knots.

The superyacht arrived in Bermuda on May 16 from Palm Beach in Florida and heads across the Atlantic to Gibraltar this week.

Meanwhile, the fleet of Arc yachts, which are anchored in St George’s Harbour, began arriving in the East End last week. The crews are expected to leave Bermuda bound for the Azores tomorrow.
