Shares of Butterfield Bank fell by $2, or 5.3 per cent, to $36 after 15,893 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, on the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were down $1.24, or 3.34 per cent, at $35.90.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 89.95 points, or 3.91 per cent, at 2,210.07, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 13.64 points, or 0.85 per cent.
