HSBC shares improve 2.64%
Shares of HSBC Holdings Plc improved 20 cents, or 2.64 per cent, to $7.75 after 2,165 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
Meanwhile, in New York, shares of Butterfield Bank were up 98 cents, or 3.16 per cent, at $32.02.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged at 2,061.55, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 17.84 points, or 1.06 per cent, at 1,665.58.
In separate news, Somers Limited purchased 773 of its common shares during September at an average cost of $15 per share. In a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange, the financial services investment holding company said the shares will be cancelled with immediate effect.
On Thursday, One Communications Ltd repurchased 311,072 of its shares at an average price of $3.63 for immediate cancellation.
