Ascendant the lone trader on BSX

Ascendant Group Ltd was the only stock to trade on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

The Belco owner remained unchanged on $31 as 3,300 shares changed hands.

Ascendant is awaiting regulatory approval for a proposed $365 million takeover by Algonquin Power and Utilities Corp, which was approved by shareholders last year.

Walter Roban, the home affairs minister, has given the Regulatory Authority a deadline extension to October this year to make its decision on the $36-per-share deal.

The US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank gained 20 cents, or 0.58 per cent, to close on $34.51 on the New York Stock Exchange. Butterfield last traded at $34 on the BSX.
