Alchemy Fitness Studio is introducing new services for next year after settling into its new home on Reid Street.

The fitness centre, which relocated earlier this year from its former home at the corner of Church Street and Par-la-Ville Road, moved to a bigger premises to make room for expansion as clients numbers grow.

Alchemy has been in business for seven years and has a staff of six — three personal trainers, two yoga instructors and the front-desk manager.

Rupert Henagulph, owner of Alchemy Fitness Studio said: “I needed to compete with the other gyms. Since opening seven years ago, many more competitors have emerged.

“I hire mostly Bermudian staff. It’s nice to contribute to Bermudians and contribute to the economy,” he said.

The new location is modern with a view of the harbour people can enjoy while working out.

“We have 150 clients and growing, we plan to double that amount with the new space,” Mr Henagulph said.

He believes what sets his gym apart from the competition is high-quality professional training and a great atmosphere, a friendly, non-intimidating place to train.

Among the staff are personal trainers and group fitness instructors Panzy Olander and James Adams, as well as Pilates and yoga instructor Megan Mahoney.

In the future, the gym plans on introducing health foods and creating meal plans to help clients transform their lifestyle and eating habits.

Mr Henagulph said: “We will start with health bars which will be called Alchemy fuel, then progress onto foods.”

He also mentioned that there are two treatment rooms that can be utilised for anyone looking to rent space for massage or physiotherapy.

Alchemy is offering a “buy-one-get-one-free” deal until the end of this year as it encourages more people to try the gym.

Mr Henagulph added: “I would like to think of this place as a one-stop shop, it is a unique space and environment.”
