Female suspect kicks through patrol car window

A woman who kicked out the window of a police car after she was arrested for trespassing in a pharmacy was referred to the drug treatment court yesterday.

Magistrates’ Court heard that Trimiea Roland, 30, was barred from the People’s Pharmacy in Hamilton, but was spotted in the store by an employee who phoned police.

Roland, of no fixed address, resisted arrest and continued to struggle with officers when they arrested her.

She kicked out the rear window when she was put in a patrol car, causing $200 in damages.

The incident happened on September 7.

Magistrate Juan Wolffe told Roland that “the defence, the prosecution, and the court want to see you” outside the court’s dock.

He added: “We want to help you, but there will be people who will try to take you off the right track.”

The case was ajourned until the November 15 sitting of the drug treatment court.
