Rawlins attends junior camp

Role model: Delray Rawlins

Youngsters participating in the Tokio Millennium Re Pee Wee camp on Saturday had a special treat when Delray Rawlins, Bermuda’s England Under-19 cricketer, made an appearance and assisted with the coaching.

Rawlins, enjoying a break back home following a tour of India with the Young Lions, showed up at Berkeley to help the youngsters through their drills, evening taking time out at the end of each session to take photos with every player. Rawlins returns to England tomorrow to join his club, Sussex, for preseason training ahead of the new county season.

On Saturday the parents also had an enjoyable time at the camp, learning some skills and drills and getting some much needed practice in preparation for the Pee Wee vs Parents game on March 18.

The programme is the foundation of the BCB’s youth development programme which introduces the sport to youngsters in a fun, structured and safe environment.

Tokio Millennium Re have been sponsoring the camp for six years.
