Handicapped do have the work ethic
I heard on the radio a government official was talking about the $50 million that is paid out in financial assistance each year. I have to admit that it is out of control.
I happen to know a few genuine cases on support for the past six years who have a physical handicap. However, I do also believe that a large percentage are making a meal of this Bermudian service.
My suggestion is as follows:
The Government should allow handicapped people to work part-time while on financial support.
That way, the employer learns about the person and can appreciate their performance more than putting limitations on them because of their handicap.
