A portable air-based cleaning and sanitising system to combat bacteria, mould, and viruses, including coronavirus, has arrived in Bermuda. The Italian-made Sanity System ozone generator can be used in enclosed spaces, such as homes, offices, shops and vehicles.Once plugged in it creates ozone, which destroys bacteria, mould and viruses. Dominique Hill, of Hill Enterprises, which has the exclusive distribution rights to Sanity System in Bermuda, said: “We put it in the centre of the room and we set it to the cubic footage of the room, and it can clear out all those bacteria and viruses in an area up to 4,000 cubic feet.“It can be used in offices, residential area, nursing homes, nail salons, hair salons, cars, ambulances, anywhere.“The little generator is plugged in, air goes into it and is transformed into ozone with an electrical discharge, and then it removes bacteria and viruses thanks to its properties.”In Italy it is being used by the Red Cross, Italian Parliament, police force, medical facilities, military, and various companies. Depending on the size of the space being sanitised, it takes between 20 to 45 minutes.Mr Hill said: “All the doors and windows have to be closed. No one can be in the room. Once it is finished we recommend to leave the room empty for about 30 minutes, and then you can continue business as usual.”He said the ozone does not destroy furniture, material, or anything else, it just sanitises.Mr Hill said: “It is manufactured in Italy, and has been approved there and also in Japan.“We were doing some research and, based on the current climate, we thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce this to the Bermuda community. Bermuda has done a really good job with the coronavirus impact, but you still have to be cautious.”He added: “In today’s climate everyone cleans their premises, but in this pandemic we have to take that extra precaution and sanitise.“People are going back to offices, and even though the offices have cleaners coming in every night and they vacuum and wipe down the desks, this is letting the gas out that is going to sanitise everywhere, it is not just basic cleaning.”• To find out more, visit www.hillenterprisesgroup.com or call 519-8004
