Remnants of tropical storm not a threat

Tropical Storm Philippe’s closest point of approach to Bermuda has passed and the remnants of the storm are not a threat to the island.

The storm had dumped heavy rain on Florida and the Bahamas by noon today, and was heading in an east-north-easterly direction at a speed of about 31mph.

The Bermuda Weather Service’s 6pm update stated that the storm’s closest point of approach to Bermuda had passed and that the remnants of Philippe are “not a threat to Bermuda”.
