Celebrating 400 years of Bermuda Parliament

The 400th Anniversary Steering Committee is planning a number of events scheduled to take place this year in recognition of the 400th anniversary of the first sitting of Bermuda’s Parliament.

Both the President of the Senate, Mrs. Joan Dillas-Wright, MBE, JP and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Hon. Dennis P. Lister, JP, MP, are inviting organisations who are interested in aligning their events with the anniversary to please contact the Legislature Office and share your dates and activities with us.

The office will be sure to add your organisation’s event to the steering committee’s calendar of events which will be promoted on the Parliament’s website in addition to Government’s website and social media platforms.

The theme of the anniversary is “Bermuda: Future Matters”.

The Committee welcomes members of the community to be inspired by reflecting on our rich and significant history while also looking at the potential for Bermuda’s future.

The Legislature Office is located 4th Floor, Veritas Place, 65 Court Street, Hamilton, HM 12 and can be reached at 441-292-7408.

E-mails can be sent to the Parliament Information Officer, Derek Lamb at dplamb@gov.bm.
