‘Keep off the roads’ appeal as bike crashes

A motorbike crash tonight sparked an appeal from police for people to keep off the roads as an expected hurricane approached the island.

A spokesman said: “The public is urged to stay off the roads as winds continue to increase into the night.”

The accident happened on Harbour Road in Paget between Manse Road and Chapel Road.

Emergency services personnel were at the scene and the area of the crash has been cordoned off.
