Michael Domico Watson led home a group of Bermuda athletes in the 50th anniversary Peachtree 10K, in Atlanta.

Watson, the son of Bermudian Olympian Michael Watson and Donna Raynor, president of the Bermuda National Athletics Association, was 156th overall in 36min 56sec. The race is the world’s largest 10K and attracts 60,000 entrants each year.

Watson was part of a contingent of athletes from the Swan’s Running Club who took part on July 4. The club has been participating in the event since 1979.

Jenene Douglas was the first woman home for Swan’s in 50:58.

The overall winner was Kenya’s Rhonex Kipruto in 27:01, while the fastest woman was Italy’s Brigid Kosgei in 30:22.

Another Bermudian competing was Frederick Steede who was ninth in the 65-69 category in 49:25.
