An annual event celebrating excellence in sport will be held next month.

The 39th Annual Sports Awards will be held at the Fairmont Southampton’s Mid Ocean Amphitheatre on March 14.

The theme of this year’s event, hosted by the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, is “United Through Sports”.

Lovitta Foggo, the sports minister, encouraged people to attend.

She said: “This is an occasion when we can gather to recognise the achievements and excellence of those individuals who have made such great strides in our sporting world.

“The Sports Awards will see some of Bermuda’s finest athletes in one venue, and I certainly look forward to honouring those who have made a difference in the world of sport both locally and internationally.”

Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased from the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, located at Craig Appin House, on Wesley Street, Hamilton.

The event starts at 7pm.
