Dear Sir,

Please allow us to use your newspaper for this appreciation and gratitude of thanks to the community of Bermuda. It just seems like yesterday when John Carr Past President of the Marketplace, and the late Lion Cynthia Bell and the late Lion Joseph Ferreira met to discuss the programme Share the Christmas Spirit. This past November we celebrated twenty-five years assisting those in need at Christmas time. This past December 2013 we were able to supply 372 families with food. Without the public donating non-perishables in the bins at the Marketplace Stores, this would not have been a success.

As chairperson of the Share the Christmas Spirit, I would like to extend kudos to the Marketplace management for the use of all the stores for the Tag day held November 30, 2013. I am most grateful to the following for all their help and assistance to me. Schumann President, Ladricka Simmons, Natalie Rego, Rita, Albertha Waite and especially to Joseph Cheeseman and all of the Marketplace staff. I am personally taking the opportunity to say my heartfelt thanks to Wakefern Corporation, Oil Group of Companies, Bermuda Police Recreation Management Team, Lionel Raynor, BGA, Sharks Swim Club, Bermuda Housing Corporation, Europa Imports, Wallington Distributors, The Royal Gazette, Butterfield & Vallis, Dudley and Debbie Cottingham, Mr & Mrs Freeman Lima, Roger Pacheco for once again supplying us with fresh vegetables for the hampers.

The preparations would not be completed, if not for the dedication to this project of Lion Geraldine Waldron, Lion Stephen and Donna Dean, Lion Cora Woods. Thanks also to Government Pre-School, Primary Schools and Special Education School for their contributions, to my Lions family and friends who packed and delivered island wide Thanks. Thank you also to our Bermuda community that have expressed their gratefulness for what we done for them this past year. On behalf of the Committee and Marketplace management, and the Lions Clubs of Bermuda we wish you and your families, peace, health and prosperity in 2014.
