Industry experts are to speak at a major international conference for the life and annuity industry.

Organised by the Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers, the conference will look at key trends and policies affecting the sector.

A spokesman for Biltir said: “This is a unique event focused on the long term reinsurance sector in Bermuda, a growing segment of the island’s international insurance industry and attracts both local and overseas attendees.”

The keynote speaker will be Evelyn Gosnell, lead researcher at US-based Irrational Labs, who will discuss behavioural economics — a field of research designed to help risk practitioners better understand human behaviour and financial decision-making.

The conference, to be held at the Fairmont Southampton on Tuesday, September 27, is expected to attract more than 200 people, with other key topics including capital markets and interest rate volatility, cybersecurity and predictive analytics.
