Tourist dies at Paget guesthouse

A visitor to the island, identified by police as a 38-year-old Canadian male, appears to have drowned in the swimming pool of the Dawkins Manor property in Paget today.

Police have not released further information, until the deceased man’s next of kin have been notified.

A spokesman said that the man had been swimming at the guesthouse when he ran into difficulty at about 6.30pm.

Paramedics arrived and attempted CPR, but the visitor was pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
