Axis Capital Holdings has appointed chief audit executive to its executive management group.As chief audit executive, Mr. Anderson directs the daily activities of the Company?s internal audit function and coordinates management?s implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements.Mr. Anderson joined Axis from Deloitte where he was director of internal audit services to the insurance industry and led their internal audit services practice in the Carolinas, in which capacity he assisted many management teams in developing their response to Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley.

Mr. Anderson joined Axis from Deloitte where he was director of internal audit services to the insurance industry and led their internal audit services practice in the Carolinas, in which capacity he assisted many management teams in developing their response to Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley.

Mr. Anderson holds a B.A. in Economics from Eckerd College and an M.S. in Accountancy from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a certified public accountant as well as a certified information systems auditor.

Insurance services provider Towers Perrin has appointed as a managing director in its Bermuda office. He will be responsible for business and brand development in the Bermuda marketplace and will be a member of the financial services product development group.

The bulletin notes: ?Pettersen brings significant reinsurance and insurance industry expertise to the firm. Prior to joining Towers Perrin, he was an integral member of the Benfield ReMetrics Group, which led to his appointment as the chief executive officer for Bluesure Ltd., an insurance broker and joint venture between the Benfield Group and Santam, South Africa?s largest insurance company.?

He has also held senior positions with EW Blanch, Bermuda-based Partner Re and Alexander Forbes Group.

will retire as deputy chairman of Bermuda-registered engineering and construction company Foster Wheeler Ltd. effective December 31. Mr. Melone, 75, is also chairman of the board?s compensation committee and a member of its audit committee and will retain those posts until his retirement date. A successor has not yet been named.
