If you have ever wanted to know what sand is made of, or why sand - in Bermuda - is pink, your answers can be found at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

A new sand table exhibit, "A Day at the Beach", as part of BUEI's Bermuda Revealed gallery, was launched yesterday.

At the launch were (from left) Jens Maitland, vice-president general administration for Bacardi Limited, Crystal Schultz, BUEI education and research coordinator and Michael Collier, BUEI's chairman of the board of trustees. Bacardi Limited was the corporate sponsor of the exhibit, at a cost of $30,000. The exhibit should interest children and adults.
