HomeZone launches liquidation sale
HomeZone will be selling off all of its major home appliances at knock-down prices in a liquidation sale which runs until the end of the month.
The electrical and appliances division of the HWP Group has a range of stock from home appliance manufacturers such as GE, Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Faber.
HomeZone announced it would cease trading on April 30, with 14 jobs being lost, due to the economic downturn, as reported in The Royal Gazette last month.
Tom Nelmes, vice-president, of the electrical division at HWP, said: "Whilst we are obviously saddened that the economic situation has meant that we are having to close, we are now putting all our efforts into clearing items that we have in stock.
"There are some truly amazing deals, and we are encouraging everyone to come and take a look at what we have on offer. Many of the items are being sold at less than cost price, but we need to sell everything by April 30, so we are urging people to come and help us clear out. Developers and landlords might be particularly interested in some of the items we have."
HomeZone will no longer be taking any orders for appliances, and all items will be sold as seen and deliveries must be arranged by the buyer. For those who are concerned about appliances already purchased with warranties, Home Zone is in the process of finalising the details of how these warranties will be taken over, and will make a further announcement about who to contact with any after sales enquiries from May 1 onwards.
Jonathan Brewin, CEO of HWP, said: "Our two main priorities right now are to sign on the dotted line with a partner who can honour the after-sales service provided by HomeZone.
"We will contact all customers who have products under warranty with this information and make a further announcement to the media as soon as the deal is signed.
"Secondly we need to focus on selling as much stock as we can before April 30. There has already been a lot of interest, so customers need to come down to Bakery Lane to support the team as soon as possible, before that item you need is sold."
