Try our home-made dishes, say Horace and Audrey

Horace and Audrey Tucker are hoping to apply their magic to Hamilton-based Bermy Cuisine by offering a wide selection of Bermuda home style cooking.

The husband and wife team have combined their talents and passion for food to build on their success at Island Cuisine on Middle Road, Southampton.

The new restaurant opened on Monday at the location of the former Buckaroo Restaurant on Park Road.

?We didn?t plan to open a second restaurant but the opportunity came along at the right time and we decided to take on the challenge and apply our magic to this restaurant,? Mr. Tucker said.

He added: ?Our magic is good food and good service at affordable prices in a clean relaxed environment and this has worked for us at Island Cuisine.?

Island Cuisine, opened in 2004, with a menu featuring beef stew, curry chicken, oxtail stew, Jamaican jerk chicken, home-made lasagne and macaroni and cheese and fresh vegetables. ?We will not have everything we have at Island Cuisine but we will be offering some of our most popular dishes and specials at Bermy Cuisine,? Mr. Tucker said.

?We are also looking to introduce some new desserts and old fashioned Bermudian home-made treats like bread pudding and coconut cake,? Mrs. Tucker said.

Mr. Tucker said customers had responded well to the menu since the restaurant?s doors opened with beef stew and lamb stew in much demand.

?God is in charge of our restaurant, we pray about our businesses we take on and if God sees fit that we take on these restaurants, it happens for us,? Mrs. Tucker said.

Bermy Cuisine has taken a number of steps to reflect its new style of management with a bold blue exterior, uniforms for staff and an effort to present an air of warmth and hospitality.
