Arch Reinsurance Limited has appointed Maamoun Rajeh as chief underwriting officer and Matt Dragonetti as head of US property.

Mr. Rajeh joined Arch Re in December 2001 as a senior underwriter for treaty casualty and specialty reinsurance.

Before joining Arch Re, Mr. Rajeh was an underwriter in the alternative risk division of HartRe, and prior to that he was an assistant vice president in the facultative department at F&G Re. Mr. Dragonetti joined Arch Re in November 2001 as a senior underwriter for US treaty property.

Before joining Arch Re, Mr. Dragonetti was vice president of Odyssey Re, and prior to that was an assistant vice president international property at F&G Re.

Three promoted at Fairmont Southampton

The Fairmont Southampton has made the following appointments:

Lee Richardson has been appointed as banquet maitre d?hotel. He brings many years of hospitality experience to his new position.

Mr. Richardson obtained his hospitality training from the Bermuda College.

He began his career in hospitality working as a busboy at Loews Hotel before his promotion to waiter.

He spent some time working on the front desk and in night audit. From there he took on the role as captain and then assistant maitre d?hotel.

Mr. Richardson was previously food and beverage manager at Grotto Bay and was room dining captain at Elbow Beach.

Within three months he was promoted to maitre d?hotel. He also served as butler for the Saudi Royal family.

During his tenure Mr. Richardson was named manager of the year. In 2005, he accepted the position of banquet maitre d?hotel at the Fairmont Southampton.

Andre Binns has been appointed as as director of front office operations.

Mr. Binns has extensive hospitality experience in Bermuda and the UK.

He began working at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on May 31, 1988, where his roles have included guest service manager, front desk manager, executive housekeeper, director of front office operations and rooms division manager.

In 2002 he was appointed quality programmes manager and was subsequently appointed to his current position as director of front office operations effective yesterday.

Mr. Binns also worked at the Bermudiana Hotel as front desk manager.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and management from Bradford College, Massachusetts.

Sinclair Robinson has been appointed as as assistant maitre d?hotel.

Mr. Robinson has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. He attended the Bermuda Hotel and Catering College and began his career as a waiter at Tom Moore?s Tavern.

Mr. Robinson then accepted a position at The Fourways Inn where he spent the next ten years as captain and assistant maitre d?hotel.

He then moved to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess as assistant maitre d?hotel for two years and then went to Stonington Beach Hotel as restaurant manager/trainer.

In 2005 Sinclair he accepted the position of assistant banquet maitre d?hotel at the Fairmont Southampton.
