PHC prove too strong for Cougars
PHC Zebras leapfrogged Devonshire Cougars in the Premier Division at PHC Field yesterday with a 3-1 win.
Casey Castle scored for PHC in the sixteenth minute when Shakir Smith outpaced Cougars’ Jasekani Furbert-Wade.
Smith provided a pass across goal to Castle, who composed himself before slotting the ball past Cougars goalkeeper Ricardo Brangman.
Smith made no mistake scoring Zebras’ second goal in the 43rd minute. It came courtesy when Jahnai Raynor who laid off a deft pass to Smith to lift his shot over the goalkeeper.
Cougars were rewarded a free kick just outside the penalty area, which PHC goalkeeper Daniel Johnson punched clear. His clearance fell to Zeko White, who headed home.
Zebras drove a final nail in Cougars’ coffin Omari Tucker, followed up Smith’s shot to score in the 78th minute.
