Bermuda Society hosts House of Lords dinner

Dinner host: Lord Kinnoull, also known as Charles Dupplin

Fifteen UK-based students attended a special dinner hosted by the Bermuda Society at the House of Lords.

The Bermuda Society, based in Britain, fosters links between the two countries and held the dinner at the Cholmondley Room and Terrace at the Palace of Westminster.

Former Hiscox Bermuda chief executive officer Lord Kinnoull, formerly Charles Dupplin, hosted the event, the 29th of its kind and Robert Childs, chairman of Hiscox, and the Bermuda Society, delivered the welcome speech.

Guests to the event, held last Tuesday, included Sir Richard Gozney, a former Governor of Bermuda, and key figures and policymakers from the international business sector, banking, financial services and other professions.

The Bermuda Society was set up to improve ties between the Island, the UK and Europe and expose local students studying abroad to top business contacts.
