Local Jim Mylrea and American visitor Ted Kenerson zoomed back to the head of the leader board yesterday after carding a net 67 yesterday at the Mid Ocean
However, they are not alone as the team of Herb Klook and Robert Shields stand tied with them on 199 following an impressive 65.
Mylrea and Kenerson had led at the completion of the opening round on Monday only to slip back to second behind George Hammond and Charles Brennan on Tuesday.
A disastrous round of 72 yesterday by Hammond and Brennan had them fall all the way to sixth, three strokes adrift of the new leaders.
Third place is shared by the pairs of Charles and Soc Tseckares, who shot 65 for a three-round total of 200, and Charles Hartnett and William McCall (65, 200).
Thus, with one round to go, the race is still wide open and any of the aforementioned groups have legitimate shots at claiming the title tomorrow.
Meanwhile, on the gross side, four teams stand separated by a single stroke.
Thomas Wall and James Taylor lead on 217 trailed by three teams all on 218.
