during the 12th annual Bermuda Secondary School Quiz contest this week.

Sandys Secondary, Warwick Secondary, Warwick Academy, Saltus, and reigning champions Mount Saint Agnes Academy are scheduled to meet at MSA's auditorium tomorrow for the preliminary round of the contest.

The teams -- to include students from years one through five -- will be tested on their knowledge of history, music, arts, personalities, sports, and current events.

But due to the limited number of teams participating all will qualify for the finals scheduled to be held at the Princess Hotel on Saturday night.

Youth Development director Brenton Roberts said some schools were unable to have a team this year due to difficulty in securing coaches.

The contest final, which will begin at 7.30 p.m., will be televised live on ZBM Channel Seven.

But Mr. Roberts urged parents, guardians, alumni of the schools, and others to show their support for the youngsters by attending the event.

The students will receive some $30,000 worth of prizes. Donations will also be collected at the door and presented to the students' chosen charity, The Haven.
