Covid-19: Test results up-to-date after surge

A Government spokeswoman said today that teams were “caught up” with coronavirus test results after an increase in air arrivals led to delays.

The Ministry of Health received 1,408 coronavirus test results over Friday and Saturday and all were clear.

A spokeswoman added: “Due to an increase in the numbers of air arrivals – passengers – into Bermuda and subsequent surge in testing numbers, test results were slightly delayed this weekend.

“However, we are now caught up and all those who tested on Friday and Saturday should now have their results.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Up to Saturday, Bermuda had 185 confirmed cases with four active and none in hospital.

Nine people with Covid-19 have died and 172 have recovered from the coronavirus.

Bermuda’s country status is “sporadic cases”. The seven-day average of the island’s real time reproduction number is less than 1.
