United States leadership coach John Maxwell is on a mission to change the way residents think, according to a founding local member of his team.

“I used to joke that the sun never sets on the John Maxwell team,” said Bob DiGiacomo, who calls Mr Maxwell the world’s “number one leadership and management authority”.

“We can’t sit on our laurels; we need to be constantly upping our game. I would encourage all people in Bermuda who seek to raise their level of awareness to come out on Friday.

“This is important for Bermuda — Bermuda needs to stay on the cutting edge.”

Mr Maxwell’s lecture will be beamed to the Island, along with sites around the world, with speakers Valorie Burton, Patrick Lencioni and Kevin Turner, on October 9.

The seminar at Elbow Beach is geared toward chief executive officers, business owners, leadership teams and “anyone who wants to improve their leadership skills”, Mr DiGiacomo said.

Mr Maxwell has been “requested by 22 countries to bring his teams there and help them develop further — we’re talking about governments, the civil service, the military and top people”.
