Taxi blocks road after crash

The driver of a taxi which crashed on St John's Road in the Cox's Hilll area was taken to hospital.

A taxi overturned on St John’s Road, Pembroke, with the driver subsequently arrested under suspicion of impaired driving.The accident happened in the Cox’s Hill area a little after 3.30am yesterday.A resident described hearing “a commotion outside”, after which police and fire department vehicles quickly attended the scene.He said: “It looked like the taxi had gone up a small embankment and flipped over.” After the driver was taken away, the taxi was flipped back upright and towed.A police spokesman said the driver was taken to Hamilton Police Station, where she was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
