luncheon -- because not enough members are showing up regularly.

The organisation has been holding a weekly lunch at La Coquille Restaurant at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute every Tuesday.

The lunch, which gives the Island's high powered wheelers and dealers the chance to network, is always topped off with a speech from a local business leader.

But at yesterday's lunch Rotary President Gil Tucker told members that the venue of future dinners might have to be switched because not enough people were showing up.

Mr. Tucker said: "We can't continue to be here under the present circumstances.

"We could stay if they put the price of the dinner up but at the moment we are looking at alternatives. The restaurant has been catering for 50 people every lunch and we have never hit that number.'' Mr. Tucker told Rotarians that future possible venues for the lunch included The Surf Club on Front Street and the Hamilton Princess Hotel.

But he declined to discuss the issue further when approached by The Royal Gazette .
