A car damaged a utility pole in an accident in Middle Road, Southampton, during the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened near to Five Star Island, and led to a section of Middle Road being closed throughout the morning, as Belco attended to the broken equipment.

Police advised traffic travelling east to divert along Church Road, and traffic travelling west to divert along Lighthouse Road.
