Mirrors programme to hold tag day on Friday

The Mirrors Programme is trying to raise funds to support its community programmes for young people

The Mirrors Alumni and Friends Association will be hosting its Island-wide tag day this Friday.

The group will be raising funds to support its community programme for young adults.

“This is a prime opportunity for members of the public to show their financial support of the transformative work that Mirrors Programme does in our community,” said Denise Wilson-Adams, the chairwoman of Mirrors Alumni.

“The Mirrors Programme seeks to empower our young adults and creates opportunities for young people to transform their own lives through personal development training and coaching services.

“The organisation also fosters behavioural changes that promote personal responsibility, healthy relationships and positive contributions to society.”

Ms Wilson-Adams said the funds raised will be used to supplement costs of the 2015-16 community programme for young adults between the ages of 15 and 19.

She added that the programme offers young adults the opportunity to develop life skills, goal setting and attainment skills, as well as job readiness skills, through participation in a three-phase process.

Mirrors volunteers will be at the following locations on Friday:

• HSBC on Church Street and Harbourview;

• Butterfield Bank on Reid Street and Rosebank;

• The General Post Office;

• People’s Pharmacy;

• Phoenix Stores in Paget, Collector’s Hill and Reid Street;

• Hamilton Pharmacy;

• Gibbons Company;

• The MarketPlace in Hamilton, Shelly Bay and Somerset;

• Arnold’s in Somerset.
