The Bermuda High School’s 2015 graduating class has beaten the world average in its International Baccalaureate Diploma results, the school reported.

The top student was Kathleen McBeath, with a total of 38 out of a possible 45 IB diploma points, followed by Brooke Kerr, with 37.

Courtney Browne, Reem Bushara, Aleisha Hollis and Sabina Stan received 35 points, and Shamar Morris and Kaitlyn Sutherland each took 34 points.

Congratulations came from Linda Parker, the head of school, who said BHS’s 100 per cent pass rate in individual subjects, with 22 out of the 25 entered achieving the full IB Diploma, spoke to their hard work through the two-year programme.

“Unlike most other IB schools, all students at BHS are encouraged to attempt the IB Diploma programme,” Ms Parker said. “Their high pass rate is a testament to our belief that all students can reach, even exceed, their potential with the right support and encouragement.”

“Every year, our goal is to help our students reach their full potential, and this year has been no exception,” said Kate Ross, the IB coordinator.

“I would like to congratulate the graduates on their results; the IB programme is a solid foundation for further study, and I look forward to hearing of their respective achievements in the years ahead.”
