The j’ouvert celebration in Dockyard this morning kicked off the second day of Bermuda Heroes Weekend festivities.

The Caribbean-style event went from 3am to 8am, with hundreds decamping to Malabar Field to be painted and have other paraphernalia adorn their bodies.

The action in the West End came after a night of soca music and entertainment on Front Street and continues with the Parade of Bands.

Tomorrow the 2015 honourees, Sir ET Richards and Gladys Morrell will be inducted as National Heroes in a ceremony at King’s Square in St George’s.
