Reinsurance firm Aspen Re has appointed a new head of portfolio analytics.

Douglas De Couto joins Aspen Re from RenaissanceRe, where he was assistant vice president in corporate risk.

Aspen Re CEO Stephen Postlewhite said: “Douglas has a proven track record of using his deep technical expertise to solve strategic business issues, particularly in areas such as portfolio optimisation and modelling, as well as capital allocation and efficiency and he will provide leadership and insight as we enhance further our catastrophe risk management analytical processes and technology strategy.

“He will be a valuable addition to our management team and we are delighted that he has decided to join us all at Aspen Re.”
